Fine wine from Sudsteiermark Austria
Sudsteiermark is a wine-growing region located in Austria's southeastern corner. The region is home to a diverse array of grape types, including white varieties such as Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling, as well as reds like Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch. Sudsteiermark wines are known for their high quality, due in part to the region's relatively cool climate. The growing season here is shorter than in other parts of Austria, which allows the grapes to retain more acidity. The region's best wines are full-bodied and have aromas of fresh fruit.
