The wine region of Franken is in the northwest region of Franconia. With approximately 6063 hectares of land (in 2008) it is one of the medium-sized growing areas. The vast majority of the vineyards located in the district of Lower Franconia, especially in the valleys of the Main, Wern and Franconian Saale. Noteworthy also has interests in the wine region of Central Franconia, and while on the slopes of Franconia and Franconia, and Aischgrund in the middle reaches of the deaf.
